This image was originally an iPhone shot. I was out for an evening stroll in the Gas Light Quarter of San Diego. From the building came the sounds of a party. I stopped briefly, mesmerized by the sounds in the night air. I could see no party, but was so intimidated to be watching that I took a shot of the building and walked on. 
Later, I committed the scene to art. I tried to capture all the different worlds set in each apartment floor by floor. It is ink on paper 8x12. I'm working a version on canvas as a 16x20 at $599. Contact me at Friday Night Art for info.

This image, OG&E Building Rainy Morning, is a favorite of mine. I created this in the first week of living in OKC. It was so exciting. It was one of those sleepless mornings. I got up early on a Sunday when no one was around. The city was sleeping it off from Saturday night. The sightseeing was inspiring. This is a approximately a 20x30 ink on linen on a wood frame. It is already set to hang. If you want it, you can hang it immediately. I'm selling it at $1299. and would be cool art for the office. Heck, if you work at OG&E, it would be tax deductible! As an update, I've transferred the image to a sheet of buffed aluminum and added a hanging mechanism so it can hang on the office wall. Painting the Valley with Friday Night Art

"The Valley" is laid back and resembles the 50's. It is filled with a fabulous mix of people from Native Texas, Snowbirds to Mexican Americans who have lived the land since the Conquistadors. Family and conversation are the elements of daily life. The land is rich and the Valley provides its fruit and vegetables to America. From wildlife refuge to ocean sands, there is a lot to see. Years of travel to the Valley was once a place to unwind for me. It was a place to slow down and drink the coffee. Eventually, I couldn't help but get to work to capture scenes for Valley life and put them on canvas. This short video showcases the Valley in art on canvas. Lucile's Gas Station on Route 66

On historic Route 66, "the Motherhood" across America, stands Lucille's Station. It is in Hydro about 7 miles east of Weatherford, Oklahoma. It opened in 1941 and the family lived upstairs. Late night travelers could honk the horn and someone would come down to fill the tank. (Remember when the attendant did all the work?) Early highway travel on the first highways was a tremendous upgrade from the dirt, gravel and wagon-rut byways of early America. Route 66 helped build the travel industry as gas stations grew along the way to feed and fuel the traveler. Motor hotels (motels) were created by enterprising people to give the weary a place to rest.  In parts of Oklahoma, some of the original road and bridges still exists and are passable alongside of the major Interstate Highway.
